That same season he lowered his lifetime mark, winning his first Sam McKee Memorial at the Meadowlands in 1:47.2. Second in the Canadian Pacing Derby.
  • At five Catch The Fire defended his crown in the $278,000 Sam McKee Memorial. He became a two-time winner of the event in exhilarating fashion pacing 1:46.4 for the mile becoming the EIGHTH FASTEST PACER OF ALL TIME, making him the Track Record Holder at the world’s most famous harness racing track The Meadowlands. The fact that he did this on the back of serving his second book of mares makes it even more phenomenal.
  • Catch The Fire’s first crop of yearlings entered the ring in 2023. One of his sons became the Highest Priced Yearling ($225k) Sold in Ohio at the most prestigious sale (The Ohio Selected Jug Sale).
